The verses referenced in this teaching are:

Isaiah 1:19  If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

Deuteronomy 28:1-2  1And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:  2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.

Luke 5:2-7  2 And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.  3 And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.  4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.  5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.  6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.  7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

Mark 11:23  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

The verses referenced in this teaching are:

Galatians 3:26  For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

Galatians 3:27-4:7  27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.  28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.  29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.  4  1 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;  2 But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.  3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:  4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,  5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.  6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.  7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

The verses referenced in this teaching are:

Joshua 18:1-4  1And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh, and set up the tabernacle of the congregation there. And the land was subdued before them.  2 And there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes, which had not yet received their inheritance.  3 And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the Lord God of your fathers hath given you?  4 Give out from among you three men for each tribe: and I will send them, and they shall rise, and go through the land, and describe it according to the inheritance of them; and they shall come again to me.

Joshua 18:3b (multiple translations) How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the Lord God of your fathers hath given you? (KJV)  Why are you so slow to go in and take up your heritage in the land which the Lord, the God of your fathers, has given you? (BBE)  How long are you going to waste time conquering the land which the Lord God of your ancestors has given you? (GW)  How long will you neglect to go and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers has given you? (NKJV)

Galatians 3:13-14  13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:  14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Galatians 3:29  And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Matthew 11:12  And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

Hosea 4:6  My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Ephesians 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

2 Peter 1:3  According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

1 Corinthians 3:21-23  21 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are your’s;  22 Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are your’s;  23 And ye are Christ’s; and Christ is God’s.

Colossians 1:13  Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

2 Corinthians 5:21  For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

1 Peter 2:24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Luke 10:19  Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

20140406 We Should Make Merry

Sunday, April 6, 2014

Pastor Matt McFarland

Please open your Bible and follow along.

The verses referenced in this teaching are:

Luke 15:11-32  11 And he said, A certain man had two sons:  12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.  13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.  14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.  15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.  16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.  17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!  18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,  19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.  20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.  21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.  22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:  23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:  24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.  25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.  26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.  27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.  28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.  29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:  30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.  31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.  32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

We don’t need to wait until we hit ‘rock bottom’ to return to God.  We expect to be rejected, but when we fall out of fellowship, God rejoices at our return.

Ephesians 2:1-2  And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;  2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

God cherishes our relationship with Him, more than our ‘good works’.

Luke 15:1-10  Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.  2 And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.  3 And he spake this parable unto them, saying,  4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?  5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.  6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.  7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.  8 Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?  9 And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.  10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

20140330 The Joy of the Lord

The verses referenced in this teaching are:

Habakkuk 3:17-19  17 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:  18 Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.  19 The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places.

Philippians 4:4  4 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.

James 1:2-4 (NLT)  2 Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.  3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.   4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

Habakkuk 3:18-19  18 Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.  19 The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places.

Nehemiah 8:10  10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

20140323 Perseverance

Pastor Matt McFarland

The verses referenced in this teaching are:

Numbers 11:13-16  13 Whence should I have flesh to give unto all this people? for they weep unto me, saying, Give us flesh, that we may eat.  14 I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me.  15 And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favour in thy sight; and let me not see my wretchedness.  16 And the Lord said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee.

Joshua 7:7  7 And Joshua said, Alas, O Lord God, wherefore hast thou at all brought this people over Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? would to God we had been content, and dwelt on the other side Jordan!

Job 3:3  3 Let the day perish wherein I was born, and the night in which it was said, There is a man child conceived.

Acts 18:4-10  4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.  5 And when Silas and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was Christ.  6 And when they opposed themselves, and blasphemed, he shook his raiment, and said unto them, Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean; from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles.  And he departed thence, and entered into a certain man’s house, named Justus, one that worshipped God, whose house joined hard to the synagogue.  8 And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.  9 Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:  10 For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

Hebrews 13:5  5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Psalms 23:4  4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Judges 6:11-14 & 15-17  11 And there came an angel of the Lord, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abiezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.  12 And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him, and said unto him, The Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.  13 And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the Lord be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt? but now the Lord hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.  14 And the Lord looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?  15 And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.  16 And the Lord said unto him, Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man.  17 And he said unto him, If now I have found grace in thy sight, then shew me a sign that thou talkest with me.

Luke 8:51-55  51 And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden.  52 And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.  53 And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead.  54 And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise.  55 And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat.

Romans 4:17  17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
