Job 1: 1-5 (KJ21)  1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one who feared God and eschewed evil.

And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters.

3 His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred sheasses, and a very great household, so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the East.

And his sons went and feasted in their houses, every one his day, and sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them.

And it was so, that when the days of their feasting were ended, Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all; for Job said, “It may be that my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” Thus did Job continually.

Job 42: 1 – 6  Then Job answered the Lord and said:

“I know that Thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withheld from Thee.

3 ‘Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge?’ Therefore have I uttered what I understood not, things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.

4 ‘Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak; I will question thee, and declare thou unto Me.’

I have heard of Thee by the hearing of the ear, but now mine eye seeth Thee.

6 Therefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.”

Job 33: 14 – 18 14 For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.

15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed,

16 then He openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction,

17 that He may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.

18 He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.

Job 38:2 “Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?

20240310 The Thankful Samaritan

March 10,2024

Pastor Matt McFarland

Luke 17:11-19 And it came to pass as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.

12 And as He entered into a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off.

13 And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”

14 And when He saw them, He said unto them, “Go, show yourselves unto the priests.” And it came to pass that as they went, they were cleansed.

15 And one of them when he saw that he was healed, turned back and with a loud voice glorified God,

16 and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks; and he was a Samaritan.

17 And Jesus answering said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine?

18 There are none found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.”

19 And He said unto him, “Arise; go thy way. Thy faith hath made thee whole.”

Cleansed = To make clean or purify.

Healed = To cure of sickness

Whole= to be rescued / saved

Stranger=foreigner citizenship

20240317 Energy is Contagious

March 17, 2024 –  Happy St. Patty’s Day!

Pastor Matt McFarland

Philippians 2:1-5 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Your Thoughts form your Future!

Hebrews 12:1-2  Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Psalms 105:1-2 O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.

Colossians 3:23  And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

Psalms 122:1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.

Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Ask Yourself, do you have:

  •  The Attitude of Christ
  • Discipline in your thinking
  • Positive sights / Look for the good
  • Speak positive things
  • Work hard
  • Meet with believers

20240303 God Can Work In Every Situation

March 3, 2024

Pastor Matt McFarland

Myopic = near-sighted

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

2 Corinthians 12:7-10 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing, I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And He said unto me, “My grace is sufficent for thee, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Most gladly therefore will I glory rather in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in privations, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Judges 6:11-12 And there came an angel of the Lord, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abiezrite; and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the wine press to hide it from the Midianites. 12 And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him and said unto him, “The Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valor.”

20240225 Words Have Power!

February 25, 2024

Pastor Matt McFarland

Words Have Power, so, the words you pick matter.

Genesis 1:3 (KJ21) And God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.

James 3:3-5 Behold, we put bits in the horses’ mouths, that they may obey us, and we turn about their whole body. 4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great and are driven by fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the helmsman pleases. Even so the tongue is a little member and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a wood a little fire kindleth!

Proverbs 13:3 He that guardeth his mouth keepeth his life, but he that openeth wide his lips shall meet destruction.

John 10:10 The thief cometh not but to steal and to kill and to destroy. I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

1 Corinthians 6:12 “All things are lawful unto me,” but all things are not expedient. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be brought under the power of any.

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

20240218 Your Associations Guide Your Future

Feb. 18, 2024

Pastor Matt McFarland

John 20:19 (KJ21) Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in their midst and said unto them, “Peace be unto you.”

Acts 1:4-5 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, “which,” saith He, “ye have heard from Me;

for John truly baptized with water, but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.”

Hebrews 10:24-25  and let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as ye see the Day approaching.

Proverbs 27:17  Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

Proverbs 13:20 He that walketh with wise men shall be wise, but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

20240204 Are You Giving GOD a Chance to Speak?

Feb. 4, 2024

Pastor Matt McFarland

1 Samuel 3:1-10 And the child Samuel ministered unto the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was precious in those days; there was no open vision. And it came to pass at that time, when Eli was lying down in his place, and his eyes began to wax dim so that he could not see, and ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the Lord where the ark of God was, and Samuel was lying down to sleep, that the Lord called Samuel; and he answered, “Here am I.” And he ran unto Eli and said, “Here am I, for thou called me.” And he said, “I called not; lie down again.” And he went and lay down. 6 And the Lord called yet again, “Samuel.” And Samuel arose and went to Eli and said, “Here am I, for thou didst call me.” And he answered, “I called not, my son; lie down again.”Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord, neither was the word of the Lord yet revealed unto him.

And the Lord called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli and said, “Here am I, for thou didst call me.” And Eli perceived that the Lord had called the child.

Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, “Go, lie down; and it shall be, if He call thee, that thou shalt say, ‘Speak, Lord, for Thy servant heareth.’” So Samuel went and lay down in his place.

10 And the Lord came and stood, and called as at other times, “Samuel, Samuel.” Then Samuel answered, “Speak, for Thy servant heareth.”

John 1:43-51 The day following, Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and found Philip and said unto him, “Follow Me.”44 Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.45 Philip found Nathanael and said unto him, “We have found Him of whom Moses in the Law and the Prophets wrote: Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”
