Just One
There is far too much hatred and suffering in this world and if we we can somehow find it in our heart to be the one to make a difference, we surely can make the world a better place to live. It only takes one, “I’m sorry” it could be just one, “I forgive you” maybe even a, “what can I do to help?” or an, “I was wrong and I’m here to make it right” and you know it just might be a smile, or a kind word to someone we don’t even know, regardless of what it might be… it could make a difference. You say, “well I am just one person among many and I’m not going to change the world,” but if we think about all the one’s before us who made the decision to do something, I think we would be amazed at how many succeeded, ultimately Jesus, the one who took our place so that we could have life.
Scripture: I John 4:20 If a man say,”I love God,” and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God Whom he hath not seen? :21 And this commandment have we from Him, that he who loveth God love his brother also.
Prayer; Father in Heaven, I thank You that You know me even better than I know myself and sometimes when I’m not doing the things I should, You will be there to remind me to do them, because they are for my good. I pray Father, that You will help me to be a living, breathing, walking testimony to that which is good and true, that I might be the one to live Your love each and every day. Father, that I might be an exact type of Jesus, Who truly made a difference in the lives of so many and showed us how to be the one’s who can also make a difference in this world. Father God, I thank You for Your Son Jesus, I thank You for salvation and the gift of Your Holy Spirit, Father, for giving me everything I need to live a life that is pleasing in Your sight. I love You Father and thank You, in Jesus’ name I pray.

One Day
The Bible tells us that one day we will all have to give an account of ourselves to God and that reminded me of a poem written by Linda Ellis:
The Dash I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend. He referred to the dates on her tombstone from the beginning to the end. He noted that first came the date of her birth and spoke of the following date with tears, But he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years. For that dash represents all the time that she had spent alive here on earth And now only those who loved her know what that little line is worth. For it matters not, how much we own, the cars…the house…the cash… What matters is how we live and love…and how we spend our dash. So think about this long and hard; are there things you’d like to change. For you never know how much time is left that can still be rearranged. If we could just slow down enough to consider what’s true and real And always try to understand the way other people feel. Be less quick to anger and show appreciation more and love the people in our lives like we’ve never loved before. If we treat each other with respect and more often wear a smile… Remembering that this special dash might only last a little while.
So when your eulogy is being read with your life’s actions to rehash, Would you be proud of the things they say about how you spent your dash? Scripture: Romans 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account (reason, motive, intent) of himself to God. Prayer; Father, forgive me for being hard headed and set in my ways, I pray You will help me to change while there is still time. I thank You for opening my eyes to see that I can do better by living to the standard You have set in Your Word so that when my life here on earth is over it will have made a difference for You. Father, I love You, I thank You for saving me, forgiving me and helping me to change. In Jesus’ loving name I pray and ask for all these things.

Earnest Desire
God chastens those He loves, just like a loving father disciplines his children, God will correct us when we get out in left field, because He loves us and knows what’s best for us. God strongly advises us to live our life according to His Word, because He knows it’s exactly what we need to have an abundant life and sometimes we find ourselves halfheartedly going through the motions spiritually, with very little or no enthusiasm at all. It is God’s desire that we have a true change of heart toward Him, with an unwavering dedication to His Word. Scripture: Revelation 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke (correct) and chasten (instruct): be zealous (have an earnest desire), therefore and repent (change the way you think).
Prayer; Dear Heavenly Father, I love You with all that I am and I thank You for instructing me in the things of Your Word so that I can truly live a life that is more than abundant. Father, You gave everything to save me from a life of sin and shame and I praise You for providing everything I need to have a healthy, prosperous journey through life. Father God, I pray for the endurance to hold up under the chastening and the strength of heart to persevere through the training because I know that afterward I will be stronger. Father, right now in Jesus’ name I rededicate myself to You and I pray that You will help me to be more committed than ever before to do Your will, that I might be a better witness of the gospel of Christ. And Father, it’s with a heart of thanksgiving that I pray and ask for all these things, I give You all praise, honor and glory. In Jesus’ glorious name I pray.

Let It Be
The Bible teaches us to be men and women of our word, so before we commit to anything we should make sure that we’re able to keep our commitments and the promises we make. The book of James says in chapter 5, not to make promises we can’t keep. When we say, “yes” to someone or something, let it be yes and when we say, “no” we should mean no. We are God’s children which makes us ambassadors for Christ, we should be different and stand out among the rest as those who not only keep our word, but keep God’s Word as well. Scripture: James 5:12 But above all things, my brethren swear (promise) not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath, but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation. Prayer; Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the principals You have placed in Your Word so there can be no doubt as to what I should be doing. Father, I pray that You will help me learn to make good decisions so that I won’t keep making the same mistakes over and over again and when I need to say, ”no” give me the strength I need to stick to it. Father, I thank You for showing me in Your Word that I should consider all the details before I say, “yes” to anything and most of all to seek You for wisdom when I need it so that I can be a better representative for Christ. Father, I praise You because You know exactly what I need precisely when I need it and I know that You will never let me fall. Father God, I ask for Your strength and Your wisdom this very hour and I thank You Father for working in me that which will bring glory unto You. Father, I pray and ask all these things in Jesus mighty name.

One Thing Is Needful
In the gospel of Luke chapter 10 we read about Mary and Martha. Martha was worried about many things while her sister Mary sat at the feet of Jesus to hear His Word. In this record we can see the contrast of being distracted mentally and choosing to stay focused on what’s really important. Sometimes we get so busy with the activity of everyday life that we tend to neglect the things that are most important. It’s very easy to put them aside until later, then it seems like later never comes and if we’re not careful they can easily slip away from us without noticing. Just like Mary, we need to make God’s Word our first priority, above all else, because we know that faith (believing) comes by hearing the Word of God. Scripture: Luke 10:41&42 And Jesus answered and said unto her, “Martha, Martha, thou art careful (worried) and troubled (agitated) about many things: But one thing is needful (necessary to provide what is needed): and Mary hath chosen (to make a selection from many other choices) that good (excellent) part, which shall not be taken away from her.” Prayer; Father, this day I praise for Your magnificent Word, for it is the light of my life, Jesus said, “It is written, that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word of God “ and I thank You that Your Word truly is the bread of life. Father, I pray that You will give me the fortitude to make the choice in my heart, like Mary did, to hear Your Word, to make it a priority in my life so that I can learn how it works, that I might experience the fullness of Your power in my life. Father God, I ask for the understanding of it and that You will lead me and guide me by Your Spirit into all truth. Thank You for Your great love and for Your mighty power, I love You with all that is within me. In Jesus’ wonderful name I pray.
