20220410 Sometimes You Just Have to Endure

April 10, 2022

Bishop Bill McFarland

Galatians 6:9 (KJV) And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Hebrews 10:35 – 36 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. 36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

Luke 8:15  But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

John 9:35 – 38 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God? 36 He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him? 37 And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee. 38 And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.

20220403 Iron Sharpens Iron

April 3, 2022

Pastor Matt McFarland

Proverbs 27:17 (CEB) As iron sharpens iron,
so one person sharpens a friend.

Proverbs 1:7 Wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord,
but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 9:10 The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord;
the knowledge of the holy one is understanding.

Luke 2:52 (KJ21) And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.

1 Corinthians 15:33 (CEB) Don’t be deceived, bad company corrupts good character.

Deuteronomy 6: 6 -7  These words that I am commanding you today must always be on your minds. Recite them to your children. Talk about them when you are sitting around your house and when you are out and about, when you are lying down and when you are getting up.

Hebrews 10:24 – 25 And let us consider each other carefully for the purpose of sparking love and good deeds. 25 Don’t stop meeting together with other believers, which some people have gotten into the habit of doing. Instead, encourage each other, especially as you see the day drawing near.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 So continue encouraging each other and building each other up, just like you are doing already.

March 27, 2022

Pastor Matt McFarland

1 Timothy  4:12 (KJ21) Let no man despise thy youth, but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in manner of living, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

1 Samuel 17:42 And when the Philistine looked about and saw David, he disdained him; for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance.

Titus 2:15 These things speak and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

1 Timothy 4:12 Let no man despise thy youth, but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in manner of living, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Titus 2:7 In all things showing thyself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing uncorruptness, seriousness, sincerity,

1 Peter 5:3 neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but by being examples to the flock.

Titus 2:7 In all things showing thyself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing uncorruptness, seriousness, sincerity,

James 3:2  For in many things we all offend. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man and able also to bridle the whole body.

Micah 6:8 He hath shown thee, O man, what is good: and what doth the Lord require of thee but to do justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him. For he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

1 Peter 3:20 (KJ212) who one time were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah while the ark was being prepared, wherein few, (that is, eight souls) were saved by water.

1 Corinthians 10:1 -2. Moreover, brethren, I would not have ye ignorant of how all of our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea,

and all were baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea.

Matthew 3:1 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judea

Romans 3:22 – 24. even the righteousness of God, which is by faith of Jesus Christ, unto all and upon all those who believe. For there is no difference,

23 for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God,

24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

1 Peter 3:21  The like figure to this, even baptism, doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

Baptist in the New Testament

1 Peter 3:20 (KJ21) who one time were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah while the ark was being prepared, wherein few, (that is, eight souls) were saved by water.

1 Corinthian 10:1 – 2  Moreover, brethren, I would not have ye ignorant of how all of our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea, and all were baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea.

After Malachi there was 400 years of silence from God.

Matthew 3:1  In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judea

Matthew 3:11  I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear. He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire.

Matthew 3: 13 – 15 Then came Jesus from Galilee to the Jordan unto John to be baptized by him. 14 But John forbad Him, saying, “I have need to be baptized by Thee, and comest Thou to me?” 15 And Jesus answering said unto him, “Suffer it to be so now, for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John suffered Him.

Romans 3:22 – 24 even the righteousness of God, which is by faith of Jesus Christ, unto all and upon all those who believe. For there is no difference, 23 for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

1 Peter 3:20 – 21  who one time were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah while the ark was being prepared, wherein few, (that is, eight souls) were saved by water. 21 The like figure to this, even baptism, doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

20220306 Baptism – Then & Now – Session 1

March 6, 2022

Pastor Matt McFarland

Genesis 6:5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagining of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Genesis 6: 15 – 18 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagining of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

1 Corinthians 10:1 – 2 Moreover, brethren, I would not have ye ignorant of how all of our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea,

and all were baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea.

Jonah 2: 5 – 6 The waters compassed me about, even to the soul; the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.

I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever; yet hast Thou brought up my life from corruption, O Lord my God.

Luke 11: 29 – 30 And when the people were gathered thick together, He began to say, “This is an evil generation. They seek a sign, and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Jonah the prophet.

30 For as Jonah was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of Man be to this generation.

20220227 Romans – Part 1

February 27, 2022

Pastor Matt McFarland

Acts 7: 54-60 (CEB) Once the council members heard these words, they were enraged and began to grind their teeth at Stephen. 55 But Stephen, enabled by the Holy Spirit, stared into heaven and saw God’s majesty and Jesus standing at God’s right side. 56 He exclaimed, “Look! I can see heaven on display and the Human One[a] standing at God’s right side!” 57 At this, they shrieked and covered their ears. Together, they charged at him, 58 threw him out of the city, and began to stone him. The witnesses placed their coats in the care of a young man named Saul. 59 As they battered him with stones, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, accept my life!” 60 Falling to his knees, he shouted, “Lord, don’t hold this sin against them!” Then he died.

Romans 7:18 – 20 (NIV) For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature.[a] For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19 For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. 20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.

Romans 1: 11 – 12 I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— 12 that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.

Romans 1: 14 – 15 I am obligated both to Greeks and non-Greeks, both to the wise and the foolish. 15 That is why I am so eager to preach the gospel also to you who are in Rome.

Romans 1: 17 For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last,[a] just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”[b]

20220213 How to Win the Superbowl of Life.

February 13, 2022

Pastor Matt McFarland

  1. You have to declare a Team.    Acts 1:8 (KJ21)  But ye shall receive power after the Holy Ghost is come upon you; and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
  2. Are you committed to supporting your team? How are you using your . . Time, Talent, Treasure? John 15:5 “I am the vine, ye are the branches. He that abideth in Me and I in Him, the same bringeth forth much fruit, for without Me ye can do nothing.  2 Corinthians 9:7   As every man purposeth in his heart, so let him give, not grudgingly or out of compulsion; for God loveth the cheerful giver.
  3. Work hard for the success of your team.  Galatians 9:6  And let us not be weary in welldoing, for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
  4. Be faithful to your team.  Hebrews 13:5  Let your manner of living be without covetousness, and be content with such things as ye have. For He hath said, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee”;
  5. Be passionate when talking about your team. Ecclesiastes 9:10 10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might, for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom in the grave whither thou goest.

20220206 I’m Here, Send Me!

February 6, 2022

Pastor Matt McFarland

Isaiah 6: 1 -8 (CEB) I am being held in prison because of working for the Lord. I ask you from my heart to live and work the way the Lord expected you to live and work. Live and work without pride. Be gentle and kind. Do not be hard on others. Let love keep you from doing that. Work hard to live together as one by the help of the Holy Spirit. Then there will be peace. There is one body and one Spirit. There is one hope in which you were called. There is one Lord and one faith and one baptism. There is one God. He is the Father of us all. He is over us all. He is the One working through us all. He is the One living in us all.

Loving-favor has been given to each one of us. We can see how great it is by the gift of Christ. The Holy Writings say, “When Christ went up to heaven, He took those who were held with Him. He gave gifts to men.”

Matthew 28: 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Luke 9: 59 – 62 Then Jesus said to someone else, “Follow me.” He replied, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.” 60 Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead. But you go and spread the news of God’s kingdom.” 61 Someone else said to Jesus, “I will follow you, Lord, but first let me say good-bye to those in my house.” 62 Jesus said to him, “No one who puts a hand on the plow and looks back is fit for God’s kingdom.”

Matthew 19: 20 – 22 The young man replied, “I’ve kept all these. What am I still missing?”

21 Jesus said, “If you want to be complete, go, sell what you own, and give the money to the poor. Then you will have treasure in heaven. And come follow me.”

The young man replied, “I’ve kept all these. What am I still missing?”

21 Jesus said, “If you want to be complete, go, sell what you own, and give the money to the poor. Then you will have treasure in heaven. And come follow me.”

22 But when the young man heard this, he went away saddened, because he had many possessions.

ut when the young man heard this, he went away saddened, because he had many possessions.
