Matthew 16:1 – 4 (KJ21) 16 The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and testing, desired Him that He would show them a sign from Heaven.

He answered and said unto them, “When it is evening ye say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’

And in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and lowering.’ O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky, but can ye not discern the signs of the times?

A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign, and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonah.” And He left them and departed.

1 John 2:16 (KJ21) 16 For all that is in the world — the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life — is not of the Father, but is of the world.

1 Peter 5:8 – 9 (NIV) Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

Matthew 16:6 – 12 (KJ21) Then Jesus said unto them, “Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.”

And they reasoned among themselves, saying, “It is because we have taken no bread.”

But when Jesus perceived this, He said unto them, “O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, ‘because ye have brought no bread’?

Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?

10 Nor the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?

11 How is it that ye do not understand that I spoke it not to you concerning bread, but that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees?”

12 Then understood they that He bade them not to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

Ephesians 5:15 –  17 (CEB) 15 So be careful to live your life wisely, not foolishly. 16 Take advantage of every opportunity because these are evil times. 17 Because of this, don’t be ignorant, but understand the Lord’s will.

Matthew 4: 4 (CEB) Jesus replied, “It’s written, People won’t live only by bread, but by every word spoken by God.”[a]
