Verses referenced in this teaching:

1 Kings 17:7-11   7 And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.   8 And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying,  9 Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.  10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.  11 And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.

Ephesians 4:13-14  13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:  14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

John 16:33  33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Romans 1:17  17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

1 Kings 17:12-16  12 And she said, As the Lord thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.  13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.  14 For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth.  15 And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.  16 And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Elijah.

Hebrews 11:1  Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

  1. Ray McFarland says:

    Jesus said if we would drink of the water he offered we would never thirst. Remembering this. We have to believe it is God’s word that fills our brook with the water of life, and sustained us in our ever day life. God has set before us a fountain of living water for us to draw our strength hope, and the courage we need to make our stand against all that comes against us each and every day. Praise God, for he is our provider.
