Verses referenced in this teaching:
Luke 10:38-42 38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. 40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. 41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: 42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
Proverbs 12:25 Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.
Luke 10:41-42 41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: 42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first (primarily, chiefly) the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Philippians 4:8-9 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
Philippians 3:13-14 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Pastor Matt says, “Let the prize be ‘the high calling of God in Christ Jesus; that ‘cheese’ doesn’t move!”
Thanks for visiting and God bless you.
I praise God for all the rich teaching and life changing messages we are being taught week by week. The knowledge of God and all He has in store for his people is amazing to say the least. And the key to receiving every promise God has made to his people is to do his Word, and wait for the promise to manifest in our lives. God bless
Ray, you are so right. I thank God everyday for leading me to the GTOC and for our dedicated teachers of the rightly-divided Word. I don’t know where I’d be without them. 🙂
We have to be thankful for the Word taught to us. The message on things needful is rich with the fact that we need to stay focused on God’s word no matter what else may be going on in our lives. For it is through and by his word that we are given our instructions to live our lives, and to find our comfort and peace each day as we walk according to his word. His love always abounds toward us as we walk down the path set before us. God bless
